OVERVIEW

Named after the historic lagoon on which it is situated, Big Lagoon is a true bush camp built to be as eco-friendly as possible. Constructed entirely from reeds and thatch with only solar power and a campfire, it allows you to utterly disconnect from the demands of the outside world. Unfenced and reachable only by canoe or on foot, it is perfect for safari lovers who want to spend their days walking in search of roan antelope, elephant, warthog or even hippo.

Taking only half a dozen guests at a time, the camp runs to the rhythms of nature. Food is cooked over the fire, bread is baked in the ground and the dawn chorus of birdsong is your alarm clock.
