Green operations
To reduce carbon production, Camp Kipwe has solar geysers, energy-saving light bulbs and an efficient design of high roofs and ventilation ducts that ensures more agreeable temperatures. Indigenous trees have also been replanted within the grounds and around the swimming pool

OVERVIEW

With rounded thatched roofs that mimic the rounded boulders of this awe-inspiring part of Damaraland, Camp Kipwe has been sensitively placed within the Aba Huab Valley. Rock literally makes up part of the accommodation, providing sturdy walls to the open-air room and bathrooms.

This is a relaxing spot from which to explore the World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein as well the inselberg of Brandberg (Burnt Mountain) and the geological wonder known as the Organ Pipes. The area abounds with wonderful rock art and small herds of desert-adapted elephant, some of which wander down to the lodge to drink from the waterhole especially in winter when water sources are scarce. On hot afternoons, take refuge at the pool with an iced drink.
