OVERVIEW
If you need space, then Kwessi Dunes delivers. This low-key but stylish lodge lies in 15 000 hectares of private-use land in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, which is a whopping 200 000 hectares itself! The quietness, pure air and clear sunshine are rivalled only by the unbelievable show of the cosmos at night. NamibRand is an International Dark Sky Reserve and every tent has an outdoor double bed so you can literally sleep under the stars!
During the day, head off to the lobelia forest, incredible rock formations and ancient Bushmen sites on game drives. Quad biking lets you explore tiny dancing white lady spider traps while huge herds of oryx arrive at the lodge to drink at the waterhole.
