OVERVIEW
Lying between the Linyanti River and the Savute Marsh, Savute Safari Lodge offers you a beautiful slice of Chobe National Park, Botswana’s elephant kingdom. This remote area is made more mysterious by the coming and going of the ephemeral Savute Channel, which dries up for decades and then starts flowing again without warning. The marsh is a favourite hunting place of spotted hyenas, jackals, leopards, wild dogs and – most famously – powerful prides of lion.
But you don’t even have to venture out to see game: the laidback lodge overlooks a private waterhole that is a favourite of the resident ellies. Wallow in the pool or sit out on the deck and enjoy their antics – perhaps a giraffe or buffalo will join them!
